So what exactly is a HD Spy Camera?
Spy Camera: A spy camera is device that allows for the capture of secret video footage. Spy cameras are disguised as ordinary everyday objects found in areas of the home or business, such as a smoke detector, tissue box, teddy bear or digital clock. The incognito camera hidden inside these everyday items is capable of capturing video footage of activity that occurs in front of it, without alerting the target person that they are being recorded. Spy cameras are also known under different names like hidden camera, spy cam, nanny camera etc.
HD Camera: Then a camera device is capable of recording video footage at a resolution and quality higher than standard resolution. There is no standardized meaning for “High Definition” and as time goes on this value will increase. As of 2015 general any video images with more then 480 horizontal lines is considered High-Definition
HD Spy Camera: Therefore a High Definition or HD Spy Camera is a camera should be able to fulfill most of the following criterion.
- Is able to record video at a minimum resolution of 480 horizontal lines.
- Is small in size
- Blends into the surroundings
- Disguises as a common object
- Nobody would suspect its a camera
- People act natural around it
- Hidden and very difficult to see
When to use a HD Spy Camera?
This really depends on your goal.
If you just want to determine at what time of day someone is parking their car on your lawn so you can run out and ask them to park elsewhere. High resolution is not necessary and a non HD Spy camera will do.
However if you are on a vacation and want to capture the atmosphere of the new years day street market in Thailand you should definitely invest in something HD or even beyond.
